As part of its ongoing UK growth strategy, Atlas Cranes UK Ltd are delighted to announce the strategic acquisition of one hundred percent of shares in Wessex Vehicle Services Ltd. This further strengthens Atlas Cranes UK Ltd presence in the south of the UK. The transaction concluded 6th March 2025 led by the Atlas Group.
Based in Wiltshire, Wessex Vehicle Services are a hugely successful, strategically placed, commercial vehicle bodybuilders, manufacturing bodywork for all vehicle types and serving multiple sectors from van conversions through to highly specialized and bespoke builds. Wessex Vehicle Services has an established history in the south of the UK, having served the industry for over thirty years.
Atlas Cranes UK Ltd are an industry leading truck mounted crane supplier in the UK and serve a wide range of industry sectors. It has a long history and is recognised and respected as a leading specialist amongst builders’ merchants, brick and block manufacturers and the utilities sector. Atlas is also the preferred supplier of loader cranes to the Ministry of Defence.
Our vision is clear in that the combination of these two successful businesses will strengthen both our positions in the market and help us to offer more comprehensive services to our customers. We believe there are significant synergies following the merger of these two industry leading companies.

These state-of-the-art builds are carefully crafted at our 40,000 square foot factory, based near Salisbury, Wiltshire by our highly skilled bodybuilding team. Wessex Vehicle Services have Whole Vehicle Type Approval and attained National Small Series Approvals for most types of bodywork for truck manufacturers including: Mercedes Benz; DAF; Iveco; Isuzu; Ford; MAN and Scania.
